Managing Organizational change management and Employee Confidence at Johor Insurance
Question
Task: How can Johor Insurance effectively manage organizational Organizational change management while ensuring employee confidence and engagement?
Answer
Introduction
Every organization must be able to adopt innovation and implement strategic plans to ensure the businesses growth and prosperity in the market. Failure to adapt to consumer needs and Organizational change management in the market will simply lead to losing consumer interest and the failure to keep up with modern advancements in business and technology (Gad 2016). Johor Insurance is a perfect example of this whereby the company failed to adapt to modernization leading competitors and technology to overtake the business.
This has also forced the business to adopt a radical Organizational change management in its business strategy so as to regain its market position and profitability. To save the business from certain failure the JI crisis consultants advised to split the business into two entities which allows the business to expand its operations and provide range.
Factors linked to successful execution
To successfully execute this Organizational change management, JI’s workforce would play a crucial role as they perform most of the duties that ensure the businesses successful operation (Franklin 2014). JI would need to distribute its staff equally among both businesses so as to ensure the smooth operations but also place experienced staff on the new operation which requires additional expertise and knowledge due to being a new start-up.
Coping With the Organizational change management
Employees working for a Business that is struggling will always face serious insecurity issues among the staff (Harigopal 2006). This is due to it having a 50% likelihood of failure thus making it important to engage the staff and keep them comfortable during this period. This would require for the human resource department to provide employees with suitable support and protection so as to win their confidence and reduce employee turnover. This makes it necessary for JI to ensure the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act & Trade Unions Act are all being implemented at the workplace.
It is also critical to ensure organization employees are educated and have access to information related to the Ministry of Manpower, The Industrial Arbitration Court, Singapore Business Federation, Singapore National Employers Federation, Singapore National Trades Union Congress and Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices. These organizations representatives should regularly visit the business as well as their contacts distributed among the workforce to help create security among employees thus allowing them to perform better on the job.
Industrial Relations and Strategies Help Build Employee Confidence
To build employee confidence JI would need to adopt Industrial Relations and Strategies which focus on delivering employee security while on their job. This would allow them to stop focusing on the chances of business failing and them losing their jobs and focusing more on making the new ventures work. Involving government and labour authorities to the process helps with policy development and ensures that JI delivers secure working conditions to its employees who will help reduce insecurity and help JI harness their workforce’s full potential and knowledge.
Conclusion
Johor Insurance has committed to making a major Organizational change management to its operations so as to save the brand and business but this can only be achieved with the help of the staff who are responsible for performing most operations thus ensuring they remain happy, stable and confident is a critical element towards Johor Insurance executing their Organizational change management successfully.
