Synthesize and evaluate the Lion case study from a perspective of your knowledge of ‘responsible-leadership’ theories, and identify the application of these theories at Lion. Discuss whether these theories are working, or not-working, and why/why-not?

Bringing change to a company can be challenging. This might be through the introduction of new service(s), new technology, and/or newly proposed management decisions or policies.
You have just been appointed as General Manager for a mid-size manufacturing plant (employing 500 people) with a turnover of $M25. The company is currently losing money and is reported as having a negative culture and sloppy work practices. The company has also been criticized for dumping waste in the local river and has been fined on several occasions by the government Environmental Protection Agency. As a result, its reputation has been seriously damaged, and the board of directors wants this addressed.
You need to make several changes to this organization, and you have the support of the Board of Directors to ‘turn this business around’. Using ‘Responsible-Leadership’ theories, how would you go about making these changes, including how you would communicate change? You also wish to encourage employees to commit to the change-agenda? Describe and apply appropriate ‘responsible leadership’ theories in putting this business back on track.

Transformational leadership is a leadership theory where a leader works with a team that helps in identifying needed change, creating a vision to guide the change through for inspiration, and executing the change in tandem with committed members of a group as well as it is an integral part of leadership model. In Lion company, the transformational leadership style would be most favorable for the sustainable growth of people, society, and the environment. The team leader needs to encourage employees to adopt the 10 behaviors that add value for developing a good relationship with customers. The leader focuses on gaining agreements as well as withholding rewards and benefits. In accordance with Fischer (2016), transformational leaders help in supporting each other and the organization as a whole. The transformational leader responds by feeling trust, admiration, respect, and loyalty for the leader which are more willing to work harder than desired expectations. The transformational theory helps in developing a clear vision that helps to influence rather than fundamental change within an organization. The transformational leader's aids in transforming an organization that deals in managing the social architects, creating trust as well as the creative deployment of self. The transformational leadership theory is needed to be followed by Lion for motivating employees. The inspirational motivation consists of developing and pronouncing with a vision for representative hopefulness as well as sureness inaptitude to understand the vision of the organization.
The transformational leadership theory aids in giving guidance and encouraging people by motivating than that of negative motivation. The leadership theory needs to appeal to the higher needs of an individual by identifying Maslov's hierarchy of needs which is a self-actualization process. In this leadership style, more than one person can engage with others that help in motivating and morality of others as well. As stated by Boamah et al. (2018), Transformational leadership is a process that deals with transforms and changes. It also focuses on emotions, values, standards, ethics as well as long term goals. The leader of Lion can use 4 phases of transformational leadership for influencing, motivating, considering, and stimulation employees. The ideas are needed for transforming the environment which eventually helps in decision-making procedures. The right selection and promotion, training, and development help in managing the employees during teamwork.
Transformational leadership helps in managing organizational culture for understanding organizational effectiveness. The employees’ management is crucial as this affects a huge number of employees. Transformational leaders can focus on managing the entire supportive remarks, higher performance, original solutions, satisfaction, and classification in better ways.

The leader serves as an ideal for dealing with a role model for influencing followers and is admired for this. It is also needed for managing employees by distributing tasks equally. Transformational leaders have the ability for inspiring and following the team members of Lion. Transformational leaders also demonstrate genuine concern for needs as well as feelings of followers that brings best efforts from team members. By adopting transformational leadership strategies challenges that help in managing the team members to innovative as well as creative in better ways. in accordance to Buchholz & Sandler (2017), the team members help in following the team members and together that can achieve great things. The energy and interest are tonics for making work better. In transformational leadership, continuous personal development can be achieved that would help in managing and encouraging employees to achieve organizational goals. The personal characteristics such as encouraging wellbeing that helps employees to go and participate in work more enthusiastically.
The display of self-sacrificed behavior by leaders is for enhancing the transformational leadership and ability for transforming self-interest of followers for collecting interests. Transformational leaders deal with work that deals with the advanced mission of the group rather than their own personal interests (Buchholz & Sandler, 2017). The main objective for transforming the values system is to enhancing perceptions of an individual with others. The employees need a comfortable and suitable workplace that would help them to deal with the current situation in a positive way.
In addition to it, behavioral theory can also be implemented in Lion for managing employees. The leadership theory focuses on a successful leader which is based on behavioral than that developing their natural attributes. Behavioral leadership theory deals with observation and evaluating a leader's actions as well as behaviors that are responding to manage specific situations. The personality trait of leaders can be developed by using behavioral leadership theory. Team members can adopt beneficial behavior as well as performing them in the Lion organization workplace. It also encourages leaders to self-aware regarding their behavior with others and recognizing their effects on the productivity of their team members. By using behavioral leadership strategy leaders of Lion can develop a positive relationship with employees which eventually encourage the employees to increase their skill in an appropriate way. In accordance with Fischer (2016), the leaders of Lion organization can carry out achievement planning that helps in adding various functioning which is crucial in dealing with employees. The leaders of Lion needs to develop a better management strategy to develop an appropriate strategy for making work smoother. The leaders of Lion needs to give proper training to employees as this helps in enhancing existing skills and new learning of skill can be achieved. The achievement of an individual and team can be achieved by conducting a survey in which proper strategies are developed.
The friendly relationship with employees would help the individual team member to participate openly in decision-making processes. The leaders should communicate with team members for understanding each other's requirements. The employees can interchange their ideas while doing work in a team hence, the team leader needs to develop a team in such a way that helps individual members to gain better results. According to Buil et al. (2019), the leaders of Lion need to analyze the better management system which identifies in managing the team members for achieving better results. The employees' motivation is crucial for gaining maximum benefits that help in increasing the overall production of the organization. The behavioral approach focuses on simplifying the task and demanding to be completed, the behavioral style that helps in creating conditions that keep employees motivated.

Therefore, in the functioning of the organization, some changes are required that would help in achieving maximum benefits. The leader of the organization needs to adopt a transactional leadership theory for presenting new ideas in front of team members. According to Cri?an a (2016), transactional leadership is a theory that focuses on the system of rewards and penalties which is highly effective in dealing with better leadership as a result and hierarchical. Transactional leaders focus on creating new ideas and analyzing their creative skills. The transactional theory is also called management theory. The transactional leadership theory is an idea that helps in managing employees to give positive ideas which they want in exchange. The employees are needed to be motivated in order to complete work on time.
In order to encourage employees to accept a new agenda, the leader of the organization needs to follow the transactional leadership strategy. The leader can give rewards that would help to encourage employees. The exchange is based on four dimensions they are as follows:
Contingent rewards: The transactional leader link the goal with rewards by providing clear clarification regarding the resources. As stated by Pitts (2017), the necessary resources are needed to be provided to employees as this helps in finding out the ways for accepting new changes. Proper training regarding the changes is needed to be provided that would help employees to gain maximum results. It also provides various kinds of awards for managing successful performance. The transactional leaders actively monitor for carryout their work for subordinates as well as standards action to prevent mistakes.

Transactional leaders need to monitor the work of their co-employees for managing the entire system. The transactional leaders have a focus on standard in order to meet or when the performance is not as per expectation. The leaders of the organization need to analyze the demand of employees as this would help in finding out the ways based on its employees will be motivated. In accordance with Ohunakin et al. (2016), the employees of the organization need to adopt new strategies for the betterment of the organization. This helps in achieving the total outcome for gaining maximum profit. The transactional leaders’ needs to identify the specific requirement based on the particular goals of the organization can be achieved. The proper knowledge about the change agenda is needed to be provided as this helps in providing appropriate knowledge to the individual. The proper motivation is needed to be provided to employees for encouraging them to adopt a new result.
Apart from transactional leadership, situational theory can be adopted by the organization as this would help in achieving maximum benefits. The situational theory helps in identifying new approaches to deal with the new situation as well as helps in analyzing the better outcome. The leader of an organization can adopt various leadership styles which are based on the situation and development level of the team. As stated by Atapattu & Ranawake (2017), the leader needs to adopt the new agenda of the organization regarding waste management hence, this leader needs to motivate employees as it would help them to follow an appropriate result. The leaders of the organization can find out various ways such as dealing with new outcomes base on it better management can be achieved. An effective leader needs to analyze the better evaluation that focuses on managing the system. The leader of the organization needs to manage the basic requirement of employees as this would encourage employees to participate in work interestingly
The organization needs to give extra points to employees for adopting a new agenda based on its proper result can be gain. It also helps in motivating employees for increasing production and implementing a better management system. In accordance with Kulkarni (2017), the employees are needed to be directed as it helps in finding out the way for adopting a new agenda. The leaders need to provide incentives to employees for following the new agenda for benefit of the organization. The union of the organization needs guidance to employees regarding the change agenda that will be beneficial for employees as well as the organization. The benefits of the organization will be equally proposition will be given to employees as well. The employees are crucial from managing the entire system which eventually helps in managing the entire system in better ways.
In addition to its contingency theory can be adopted by the organization. The leaders can focus on particular variables that are related to the environment while determining the particular style of leadership that is needed in managing the present demand of the organization. The leadership deals with a particular situation that effectively identifies the basic requirements of employees and organizations as well. According to Granlund & Lukka (2017), the contingency approach suggests the most appropriate style of management which is dependent on managing the situation and adopting for long-term benefits. The leadership is managing the entire system which eventually helps in finding out the ways based on it managing for finding out appropriately. The seniors’ examples can be provided to employees for encouraging employees as this helps in finding out the ways in an appropriate way. The management system helps in achieving to gain in managing a better system that continues in dealing with the present condition. The proper evaluation can be considered by managing the entire system which eventually deals in appropriately managing the new agenda. The employees can get motivated by offering various deals as it helps in finding out many ways based on its better achievement can be gained. The motivation of employees is crucial as it helps in managing the entire system based on it better management can be gained.
