Executive Summary
The key objective of this assignment is to devise a new online grocery app for all segments of customers. The objective is to gain comprehension of different factors for considering the setting up of the online grocery shopping app. There is inclusion of introduction, sections in the body elaborating the process of supply chain management of the newly developed app. The key motivation for developing the online grocery shopping app is to develop an app that addresses the issues that every customer’s faces regarding shopping of groceries from the retail or offline retail stores. The experiences that every person undergoes while hopping the groceries are identified and strategies are made regarding resolving them.

Introduction
The world is evolving and altering at a rapid rate and is driven by various habits of shopping. Moreover, with the integration of advanced technology, customers are getting oriented towards making their lives easier and more convenient. The basic issues that every individual counteracts during grocery shopping includes the carrying of heavy bags of groceries that weigh around 10-12 kilograms from the retail or offline grocery stores right which derive from personal experience of every individuals (Ahmed, 2016).

This is specially observed for employees who return from work late at night but have to go for shopping purposes. This also includes issues regarding costs that every individual faces in travelling or driving to the retail shops for making purchases. People also face issues in travelling from one retail or physical store to another in the case where the item of grocery that they desire is not available in one retail store (Beynon-Davies, 2018). The business model is inclusive of the value chain of logistics from the perspectives of the customers and hence will be categorized into four elements of discrete nature for a shopping trip. This would include the customers to visit the website of XYZ. He or she has to register and subscribe to the services in the official website for XYZ. This will be followed by the search and buying of the items of groceries from a wide range of brands and varieties.

The user has to add the items in the online cart and final check the payment. He then has to choose the system for making the payments of the groceries and select the final option for payment. On receiving the order, the online app for grocery shopping will contact the registered vendor for fresh supplies and they will pack the items (Ghezzi, et al., 2015).

The registered or Delivery Company or authorities will receive the package from the vendor and deliver it at the address of the customer. In the case where the customer might have chosen cash on delivery option for making the payments, the delivery personnel will collect the amount and provide the bill of the purchase to the customer along with keeping a sample of the same with him. After receiving the payment, the backend operations regarding the supply chain will be managed by separate department (McKeever, 2016). The payment that the customer will be making will be denoting to the Admin earning. It will be equivalents to the commission of the admin along with the subscription fees. The admin will be in charge of sending or transferring the amount to the vendor of the Admin commission.

Critical success factors
The success of online app for grocery shopping will depend upon various factors which need to be considered before making the actual launch of the entire business. As per Watson, McGowan & Cunningham (2018), the success factors include the strong promotions and branding of the website of the online app for grocery shopping through various channels (Watson, McGowan & Cunningham, 2018). The online app for grocery shopping will have to gain unique merchandising for its business operations.

The online business will be adding enhanced value to the users by facilitating them with discount packages which will be available for regular buyers. It shall also facilitate guarantee of money back within 7 days of the grocery items or products does not happen to meet the requirements or are found to be defected.
